Gratitude, Gathering numero Un. Gratitude heals, it attracts abundance an it is something that I have found integral to my daily life, so I decided to facilitate a group to encourage the giving of thanks, this post is about that initiative.
There are things in my life that have helped me grow tremendously. Gratitude is one of them. I was raised with Gratitude being a big part of my life. I grew up with a wonderful mom and sister, we lived simply an had very little money. There was always an abundance of Love an joy, no mater the monetary circumstances, an we learned from an early age to give thanks before every meal, for the sunshine an for the rain. There were rough times when we lived in tents an ate what we were given from the church, but we never went hungry, an always had more then enough to share. As an adult my life has changed significantly, for this I am very grateful. My husband Joel and I live in a beautiful home, an are surrounded by beautiful things. Abundance beyond my means when I was a child, things I only dreamed of . Simple things like having running water, electricity, an furniture of our own, four walls an food on the table every night.
We decided to have a Gratitude Gathering, an sent out an invitation to some of our closest friends. This gathering of people was assembled to give, receive, and celebrate being grateful. Giving thanks is a lifestyle. Being conscious of our abundance, an that of the universe, helps to keep us balanced an present in the moment. It has been on my heart for a long time now, gathering with people I love to share joy an give thanks. This action was inspired by books Susan Jeffers has written an by my life coach a few years ago, it is also a product of love. Motivated most recently by the book I have been raving about “The Artists Way” by Julia Cameron. As a direct result Joel and I hosted our first Gratitude Gathering in the Artist Cabana on Sunday. It was humbling, joyus an inspirational. I was amazed at what our friends shared and how each of us connected with an supported one another.
We welcomed everyone in with Joy, Joel shared some of his new custom shapes
We sat together, and gave thanks together, each sharing something wonderful and true to them. Tools were passed on and I believe everyone came away with some thing positive. It was an honor to par take in this gathering an we are visulizing bigger spaces for more friendly an grateful faces to share. We wrapped things up with gift giving and a jam session.
